AI for Business: Where to Start

Artificial intelligence can speed up some activities, but it does not replace a clear process or the responsibility of the person making the decision. The useful question is not "where can we add AI", but which repetitive task is worth improving and how its result will be checked.

AI as an Operational Assistant

Think of tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Midjourney not as infallible systems, but as tools that can accelerate well-defined activities. Availability, performance, and terms depend on the service: what can you assign to them in a controlled way?

1. Support for Drafting Responses

An assistant can consult approved product sheets and prepare answers in several languages. Sources, availability and prices must stay current, answers must be traceable, and the workflow must hand uncertain cases to a person.

2. Data Analysis, Made Understandable

A controlled system can help explore margins, returns and product performance. Before uploading sales files, choose a service with suitable terms, minimise personal data and access, and verify every calculation against the original records before making a decision.

3. Marketing and Content

If writer's block hits for the newsletter, ask for a draft — for example “suggest three ideas for an email to customers who bought X” — and use it as a starting point, not something to copy and paste. You can also create images, summarise documents, or prepare translations, which should be reviewed by a suitably skilled person before publication.

Start with the Process, Not the Tool

Clear instructions help, but they are not enough. You also need reliable data, rules for what the system may do, a person responsible for verification, and a simple way to measure time saved, errors and quality.
